Reflecting on cherished traditions and charting the course ahead! 🚀 On Saturday, May 11, we came together at St. Francis Prep for our annual Post-Chapter Assembly. It was a day filled with nostalgia, enlightenment, and boundless hope for the future.

Brother Damian's captivating discourse on the rich tapestry of our Congregation's history truly stirred our hearts. Revisiting the remarkable journey of our first 166 years filled us with renewed admiration and gratitude for those who laid the foundation of our legacy.

With eyes firmly set on the horizon, we engaged in meaningful conversations to celebrate our past achievements, evaluate our present endeavors, and envision the promising pathways ahead. Every moment was a testament to our enduring spirit of resilience and unity.

As we continue to tread the path of progress, let us carry forward the invaluable lessons from our past, infusing them with fresh zeal and innovation. Together, let's embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, forging a future that honors our heritage while propelling us toward new heights of excellence.

Post-Chapter 2023

The annual Charter Award Dinner of St. Francis College was successfully held on Thursday, May 2. The event took place at Gargiulo's Catering Hall in Coney Island and was attended by more than 250 guests, including the esteemed Most Rev. Robert Brennan, our Bishop. It was a remarkable evening filled with insightful remarks from our Charter Award recipient, Dr. Randy Peers, and our student keynote speaker, Jean-Paul Maxi '25. Moreover, the event managed to raise an impressive sum of over $300,000 to support the College's initiatives.

Brother Gabriel O Brien our Superior General with Bishop Brennan and Brother Owen Justinian professor at St Joseph Seminary.  Both Brothers were recognized for 60 years of religious life and service to the Church in the Diocese of Brooklyn. 

As May blossoms around us, we come together to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth. Her grace, love, and intercession have touched countless lives throughout history.

On this special day, let us adorn her with our prayers, our love, and our devotion. Let us crown her with flowers as a symbol of our admiration and gratitude for her endless blessings and protection.

May the spirit of Mary's unwavering faith and maternal love inspire us all to live with compassion, kindness, and humility.

On May 1, we honored and celebrated the incredible contributions of religious brothers around the world. Their selfless dedication, compassion, and commitment to serving others make our world a better place. Whether they're educators, caregivers, or community leaders, their impact is profound and invaluable.

Let's take a moment to express our gratitude to all the religious brothers who devote their lives to spreading love, kindness, and faith. Your unwavering devotion inspires us all. Thank you for everything you do!

On April 11th,  Brother David was awarded a Leadership in Education Award from St. John's University. Brother spoke about the importance of the Vincentian Mission of St. John's and its impact on his path and journey as a Catholic educator and leader. ⁠

On April 1, Brother David Migliorino attended the NCEA conference in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, where he received the C. Albert Koob President's Award for his outstanding contribution to Catholic education.  Congratulations Brother David on this momentous achievement.

Our Brothers were well represented at this years St. Patrick's Day Parade in New York City! They joined the Celtic Friar Pipe Band from Saint Anthony's and Students, Faculty and Staff from St. Francis Preparatory School on their march down 5th Avenue.

Brother David was recently interviewed on the Catholic Faith Network to discuss his recent ''Presidents'' award from NCEA. During his interview Brother David highlights some of the amazing pillars St. Anthony's High School and what makes it so special.

10 Students and 4 Faculty Members from Saint Anthony's High School and St. Francis Prep spent their winter break as part of the St. Francis Volunteer Program. They met up with students and faculty from Notre Dame Regional High School in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and spent the week assisting at Habitat for Humanity, knitting quilts for the homeless, helping animals in need and many other selfless acts of love and kindness. We are so blessed to have all of such amazing students and faculty members from these three schools to help make a difference in the image of St. Francis of Assisi. 

On Ash Wednesday, Brother Greg and students from St. Francis College offered ashes on the subway for anyone who was in need.

On Monday February 12, St. Francis Prep hosted the faculty of Saint Anthony's High School for a day of collaboration, prayer and collegiality.  After attending Holy Mass, the faculties of both schools came together in their respective departments to share ideas and lessons. These two schools represent the two largest Catholic High Schools in the United States, and their partnership and shared success continues to be the guiding beacon of Franciscan education in our country.

We are proud to announce that our very own Brother David Migliorino has been nationally recognized with the C. Albert Koob Merit Award from the National Catholic Educational Association. This 'President Award' is given to an individual or organization that has made a significant national contribution to Catholic education and displays the significant virtues of faith, support, leadership and development that impact Catholic school education in the United States.

As the Christmas Season comes to an end the Brothers share their Nativity scenes as we celebrate the 800th anniversary of St. Francis and the Nativity at Greccio

Saint Anthony's recently welcomed more than 1700 students, parents, and grandparents to our student center for their annual Grandparents Mass and festive brunch. This event truly embodies three of their core values: faith, family, and community.
