Today, members of our Order met to renew our vows and continue our pledge to live our lives in the image of St Francis. We continue in our ministry to live the Gospel and to affirm Christ's Kingdom of Peace.

The Holy Father has asked that October 7th be a day of Prayer and fasting for peace.

The entire coaching staff of St. Francis Prep helped to celebrate Brother Robert Kent's 82nd birthday. Happy Birthday Brother Robert!

Congratulations to Brother Robert Gabriel for his recent induction into the Saint Anthony's Alumni Hall of Fame. Brother Robert served as the Academic Dean of Saint Anthony's for 23 years and helped to ensure its growth and success.

The Franciscan mission is alive at Camp Alvernia, where during our three sessions almost 700 campers enjoyed seven weeks of growth and development at the oldest Catholic camp in the country.

Every session we hosted an evening Community Campfire inviting our campers and their families to bring neighbors and friends to come and share s’mores around the campfire and enjoy our beautiful natural setting. All of the proceeds went to our Brother Robert LaFave Tuition Assistance Fund which helps give the gift of camp to local families in serious financial hardship.

Our motto, the Alvernian Way (Respect Yourself, Respect Others and Respect Your Environment) is easy to see in action as you walk around campus on a typical camp day. Our children play sports, learn to sail, create art, or simply play tag and climb on the playground.  They win and lose, face challenges, and try new things all under the watchful eye of our caring staff. What a special thing for children to be able to grow in a safe environment, a place for true friendships and community.

Last week, both Saint Anthony's High School and St. Francis Preparatory School started another year of educating the hearts and minds of over 5,000 young adults through the guidance and direction of the Gospel. As the two largest Catholic high schools in the country, these two schools serve as beacons of hope and proof that Catholic education is alive and well in our amazing country.
